Local’s guide to Brisbane night life

From Fortitude Valley, Riverside and Howard Smith’s Wharves, the night life in Brisbane is exhilarating. As a local, I am well aware that the best clubbing destinations change depending on the time & day.

To experience the best Brisbane has to offer on a Friday night, head to Fridays! Open 11am to 3am, the waterfront hotspot serves an array of delicious alcoholic beverages to hundreds of people. The classy bar attracts large crowds from 5pm work knock-off, and a younger audience from 10pm onwards.

Saturday nights is for the Valley. Fortitude Valley offers a range of clubs in walking distance of each other. For old school hits, try Retros or Birdees, or for a rave, the Met or Prohibition. The Valley has something for everyone.

Brisbane is notorious for it’s Sunday sesh. The Fox Hotel is an iconic colourful, rooftop bar in the heart of South Brisbane. The party kicks off at 2pm and goes all night (well, until 2am!). Affectionately known as Stockies, the Stock Exchange Hotel is another raging Sunday sesh destination. The multilevel venue can host large crowds, and large crowds it attracts. Serving delicious food and cheap drinks, Stockies is the place to be on a Sunday night.
